Lithuanian and Polish Presidents discussed topical bilateral and international issues (2008.03.19)
Wednesday, March 19, Vilnius – President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński.

On 17 March, Lithuanian Ambassador to the U.S.A. Audrius Brūzga and the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Lithuania and the U.S.A. regarding the implementation of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program requirements and related enhanced security measures.

Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas informed Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Ivars Godmanis about amendments to the Law on New Nuclear Power Plant adopted by the Seimas, and expressed his hope that four-state negotiations on the development of the new nuclear power plant could be started in the short run. Ivars Godmanis, who is on his official visit to Lithuania, reasserted that Latvia remained interested in the construction of the new plant and trusted that there would be no obstacles for the fast project development.
